Who is the Course intended for?
- Project / design engineers who design, configure and install Modicon Quantum or Premium or M340 PLC hardware, and who write, commission and document Unity Pro user-application programs.
- Electrical maintenance personnel.
What is covered in this Course?
- Selection, layout, installation, wiring and configuring of the PLC hardware
- Overview of the IEC61131 standard and its implications within Unity Pro
- Programming with IEC61131-3 languages
- Connecting Unity Pro to the PLC Simulator and downloading/transferring the application code
- Programming using Sequential Function Chart (SFC) editor
- Configuring Quantum Remote and Distributed I/O
- Connecting to the PLC via various media
- Programming Derived Function Blocks (DFBs) using the Function Block Diagram editor (FDB)
- Refining DFBs
- Configuring PLC-to-device communications
- Creating and using Derived Data Types
- Using System Bits and System Registers
- PLC-to-PLC and PLC-to-I/O communications
Course Prerequisites
- Basic understanding of PLCs is required.
- Competency in using Microsoft Windows.
